For the first time in history, the Sri Lanka Women’s Blind Cricket Team will participate in the T20 World Cup 2025, marking a proud milestone for the nation. The team is now preparing for their upcoming match this November, an important step in their journey towards the World Cup. Recognizing the significance of this achievement, the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) has come forward to sponsor the team’s preparation for this remarkable journey.
This sponsorship reflects IIT’s ongoing commitment to empowering differently abled athletes and promoting inclusivity in sports. The initiative is once again supported and guided by Mr. Nilanka Kandeagama, who continues to play a key role in training and mentoring the team as they get ready to represent Sri Lanka on the global stage.
