As part of the “Sports for Humanity” initiative, the IIT Sports Meet 2025 introduced the “Great Winner” program to honor athletes who exemplify sportsmanship, integrity, and humanity. This recognition is not based on winning or performance, but on qualities that inspire others and elevate the spirit of the event.
The program celebrates athletes who demonstrate the following key qualities:
- Exceptional Sportsmanship—Respecting opponents, officials, and teammates, handling wins and losses gracefully.
- Leadership—Guiding, motivating, and inspiring teammates through positive example.
- Perseverance—Facing challenges with determination, resilience, and commitment.
- Team Spirit—Promoting collaboration, unity, and mutual support among peers.
Award Ceremony Highlights
At the closing ceremony, all students recognized as Great Winners received a Sports Meet Cap, symbolizing honor, character, and the spirit of sport.
